Katy Samaha - Client Relations Manager, 香港六合彩官网

Katy Samaha joined 香港六合彩官网 in 2007 as a Sales & Marketing Manager. Five years later, she was promoted to her current role as Client Relations Manager serving all of Orange County.

鈥淲hen I was hired, I was new to the security industry but it didn鈥檛 take me long to learn that 香港六合彩官网 had a great reputation in the industry, and I take great pride in working for such a reputable company,鈥 said Katy.

Working in the security industry offers some challenges. At times, it was difficult for Katy to connect with facility managers mainly because they were too busy maintaining their buildings and typically do not attend in person meetings or networking events.

鈥淚 had to think creatively on ways to connect with facility managers in order to build strong relationships and trust,鈥 said Katy. 鈥淥ver the years, I鈥檝e had the opportunity to align our operations team with facility managers, which has helped to break down those barriers.鈥

According to Katy, there are many benefits to working in the security industry as a woman. Due to the nature of the security business, there tends to be a lot of intense situations. She believes that women have strong communication skills and can handle conflict in a calm manner.

鈥淲e have the ability to really listen to people鈥檚 problems and diffuse difficult circumstances,鈥 said Katy. 鈥淲omen are inclined to be more empathetic and intuitive allowing us to identify easier with customers.鈥

If you are looking for a job in the security industry, Katy offers advice on how to succeed.

鈥淢ake sure you are truly confident in your capabilities, get involved in organizations within the industry, always have respect for yourself and your team and be a team player,鈥 said Katy. 鈥淵ou should also collaborate with other women in the industry, become a mentor, be supportive of other women, show up with a positive attitude and be a problem solver.鈥

Katy is an active member serving on various committees for BOMA, IREM and IFMA. She鈥檚 had the privilege to volunteer for a variety of charities such as Socks for Heroes, Wise Place, Olive Crest, RAD Camp, The Village, Working Wardrobes, Mercy House, OSO Lake Campground, Hanaeleh Horse Rescue, I.C.A.R.E. Dog Rescue, Miracle Manor, Canyon Acres and Miracle for Kids.

鈥淥ver the last few years, I have seen a shift with more women entering the security industry, which means we are proving that women can have a positive impact in a male dominated industry,鈥 said Katy.
